How to make your garden bee-friendly and help save the world

As some of you know I write a blog, Hot Gardens, about gardening in hot dry climates. When I began it 20 years ago the universe for this topic seemed narrow–primarily new residents of Nevada and Arizona. Today, with climate change, domestic gardeners in huge parts of the world, including the EU, UK, Australia and India are searching for advice about creating beautiful drought-tolerant gardens.

As part of my travels from L.A. to New Orleans and back I visited various botanical gardens along the way. My most recent Hot Gardens post is about creating homes for non-aggressive bees stemming from a visit to the Tucson Botanical Garden. You can read how this public garden is helping bees survive–and how you can do it, too.

And earlier this year I wrote about how gardeners can become Superheros and help save the world’s food supply. And–Yes!–you can do it, too! Read all about it here.
